Only currently registered students and staff can enter the Library and borrow materials. If you are 'off books', you are advised to contact your Department or School to liaise with Academic Registry regarding your University status.
However, while 'off books', you can apply for a visiting reader card by contacting our Admissions team at libadms@tcd.ie. This will enable you to physically access the Library to consult books, or to get onsite access to our online material (e.g. e-journals, e-books etc.) on our "visiting reader" PCs. These PCs are located on the first floor of the (former) Berkeley Library.
There are also an increasing number of open (or free) e-resources becoming available. Many are listed in our catalogue (access link indicates free electronic resource status).
