Does the Library use Shibboleth or Open Athens to access online content?

In general, access to subscribed online resources is via your Trinity username and password when off-campus (please note when on-campus you do not need to authenticate in this way). Some resources use Shibboleth and if setup for this will also prompt you for your TCD network details.
If you are prompted to use Open Athens that is possibly a resource outside of our purchased collections. We may have the resource in one of our other subscriptions. You can check for the title or database in our catalogue, Stella Search.
